FoxyTag 0.5 is ready:

- Less data transmitted (less expensive to use)
- Night mode (press “9″ to switch)
- Better Bluetooth connectivity, more devices accepted
- Version with integrated GPS
- Minor bugs corrected

To test it, we need you!

Please download either http://www.foxytag.com/rel/0.5.1/FoxyTag.jad if you have a Bluetooth GPS or http://www.foxytag.com/rel/0.5.2/FoxyTag.jad if you have an integrated one. We would be very happy if you send us back a mail indicating your phone model as well as your comments or just “OK” if everything is OK. The main point in this version is the Bluetooth connectivity. If you re-connect your GPS, everything is OK???

Thank you very much for your contribution. :-)

We realised a new module for next FoxyTag. It is not FoxyTag yet but only the part wich will be integrated in next version.

However you should be able to connect with bluetooth GPS and receive GPS datas.

Anyone who had a problem with bluetooth conection or bluetooth device discovery should try this test.

Even if current release of FoxyTag works fine on your phone we invite you to try it:
it will be integrated in next version and we need a little help from our beta testers to improve forward and backward compatibility.

There is also a new API for mobile phones with integrated GPS.

    Sign Language Via Cell Phone

Posted by infos in Mobile, Research on February 13th, 2007 |  No Comments »

A project is underway at the University of Washington to enable real-time sign language communication via cell phone. Because of the low-bandwidth wireless cell phone network, a new compression scheme is necessary to capture only the bare essential components of signing to minimize data transfer. Although text messaging is a viable alternative for everyone, signing — like speech — is a much faster and more convenient form of communication.

Posted by infos in FoxyTag on December 15th, 2006 |  No Comments »

The new version of FoxyTag is out, we still are in a beta development but this version seems to be stable. It works on a lot of different mobile phones. To use FoxyTag on your mobile you just need to have Java installed on your mobile (most of modern mobile phone). You also need a Bluetooth Gps sender/receiver which allow the soft to know were you are located and if you are about to see a speed camera (warning 15 seconds before, adjusted according your speed).

If you were an early user you may also have noticed our new logo!
